I wanted to share with you some of the photos and results of out April Crop for the Cure.

We had 14 croppers at the Folsom Vet's Hall on April 24th. We raised a total of $910.50 to help fight to end breast cancer forever. It was a full day of cropping, snacking and some bidding in the auction ; which included a LIVE auction of a Starbucks card. We are so very thankful to the Folsom Veteran's Hall for the use of their facility free of charge. Thank you also to our family--Our moms both hit their kitchens to cook and bake for the event---rumor has it that all the snacks were very yummy! Dinner was a homemade spaghetti dinner with garlic bread and salad. A big thanks, because I know the ladies were so thankful, to Steve (Kyle's dad) and Kyle for making that late night Starbucks run for about 10 orders. To the left is a photo of our dear

August 28th is our next Crop for the Cure. It is being held at the Elk's Lodge #6 in Sacramento. It is going to be a great time of scrapbooking again--our moms are making snacks again!! A whopping 12 1/2 hours of scrapbooking time--all for the purpose to raise money for an end to breast cancer. 100% of the money raised goes to the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure. We have committed to raising $4600 for this cause, and we are currently at $1430 raised. We are getting some really great offers of items to put into our silent auction for this event, so if you are able to come, be prepared! Kyle is donating three of his beautiful pictures from Yosemite to go into the silent auction. Not to mention a donation from Stampin' Up, Tastefully Simple, and more scrapbooking supplies! To register for the event please go to: LermansAgainstBreastCancer.com.
Kyle and I picked August 28th because it would have been his Aunt Rhonda's 55th birthday. His aunt passed away from breast cancer nearly 14 years ago. I unfortunately never had the pleasure to meet her, but I have heard that she was an awesome person! My mother-in-law and Rhonda were BFFs, and hearing her stories makes me sad that I didn't get to meet her. We want to remember Rhonda on the day of her birthday by raising money for breast cancer research so that families don't have to experience the loss of a loved one as the Moss and Lerman families did. Rhonda and all the people that we personally know who have passed away and who are survivors are the reasons we are so passionate about raising money for breast cancer research.
Last week was the kick start of the Susan G Komen 3-Day events! Starting in Boston (last week) and Cleveland this week! It is so exciting to see pictures of the event on Facebook.... I am giddy!
Training Update
Admittedly we are behind on the suggested training that is given by the 3-Day folks. We went for a really great 8 mile walk a month and a half ago. Life has been busy since then: San Diego (Spirit West Coast), Monterey (second Spirit West Coast) and Washington, DC. Now that we are winding down with traveling it is time to kick up the training! I am smelling a double-digit training day soon!
Thank you for visiting! Don't forget to check out our website, and take a moment to consider donating to this cause! :)
Sincerely,
Holly & Kyle
